Cartagena a Águilas, 89km (acumulados 784km)
Observaciones:
| Observations:
After the dirt-bath yesterday, I had to clean everything that wasn't inside my waterproof panniers: cycle clothing and the panniers themselves. This morning, I took out my filthy bike and found a flat tire. I removed a lot junk embedded in the tyre. I did the same to the other tyre, and it deflated too. I took a deep breath. One step at a time. I changed the first tube but it didn't inflate properly: defective. Luckily, I have four spares and could patch the three punctures at the end of the day. Finally, I managed to change the tubes, cleaned the bike, and found a screw on the verge of dropping my luggage rack. I don't know how I managed to stay calm. The rear wheel never fully inflated. I stopped at no less than four gas stations for air. I also stopped twice to fix the brakes and once to eat. I thought that I was going nowhere today. But finally I found a rhythm and enjoyed the beautiful scenery, like my beloved Park Garraf. I finished the stage at the beach in Águilas and was feeling very good. |
