47 Provincias // 47 Provinces

Han pasado 5 meses desde terminar de mi Vuelta a Iberia. Por muchos motivos (incluso aversión a las navidades, tiempo desagradable de invierno, no poder pedalear ni correr por tendinitis en mis rodillas, y no tener trabajo), sufrí un invierno fatal. Pero ahora vivo en una nueva gran ciudad, tengo un nuevo trabajo, y con la llegada de buen tiempo, he vuelto a pedalear, a descubrir, y a soñar. Por mi gran Vuelta, he encontrado mi identidad: ni ciclista de carretera ni ciclista de montaña, soy cicloturista. Pero como he vuelto a trabajar, no puedo hacer viajes tan grandes y tengo que buscar cada oportunidad para escaparme algunos días con la bici. Ya he hecho un par de viajes cortos: a Plasencia (ida) y a Segovia (ida y vuelta). Como un verdadero contable, he sumado que he visitado 42 de las 47 provincias peninsulares de España, todas en bici. Con esta cifra, tengo mi próximo retito: visitar las 5 provincias que quedan. Si el tiempo lo permite, después de los 4 días de semana santa (a Zaragoza por Soria) y una semana de vacaciones poco después (a Málaga por Cuenca, Albacete, y Jaén), me debe quedar 1 sola (Orense). Pasar 14 de 18 días en la bici no será malo.... :D

It's been 5 months since completing my Trip Around Iberia. For many reasons (including dislike of Christmas, disagreeable winter weather, not being able to ride or run because of tendinitis in my knees, and not having a job), I suffered a miserable winter. But now I live in a grand new city, I have a new job, and, with the arrival of good weather, I'm riding, discovering, and dreaming again. As a result of my great Trip, I've found my identity: neither road cyclist nor mountain biker, I'm a bicycle tourist. But since I've returned to work, I can't take such big trips and have to look for every chance to escape a few days with the bike. Already I've made a couple of short trips: to Plasencia and to Segovia (and back). Like a true accountant, I counted that I've visited 42 of the 47 mainland provinces of Spain, all by bike. With this figure, I have my next little challenge: to visit the 5 remaining provinces. Weather permitting, after 4 days at Easter (to Zaragoza via Soria) and a week off soon after (to Málaga via Cuenca, Albacete, and Jaén), there should be just 1 (Orense). Spending 14 out of 18 days on the bike won't be bad.... :D
