Una Vuelta a Iberia, preludio

UNA VUELTA A IBERIA, salida en bici (6.000 km, 12 semanas) La sorpresa no fue la noticia sí misma pero en lugar fue el momento de recibir la noticia. Ayer me enteraron que fuera mi última día con la compañía. Podría ser una gran preocupación -- pero lo veo como una gran oportunidad. La proposición de Una Vuelta a Iberia me quedaba sin fecha. Pero acabo de decidir emprenderla el sábado 11. Se parte en cuarto tramos: de Barcelona a Sevilla, por la costa del mar Mediterráneo (1.600km, 3-oct) de Sevilla a Irún, por la Vía de la Plata y por Burgos (1.000km, 16-oct) de Irún a Sevilla, por el Camino del Norte y por el Camino Portugués (2.000km, 12-nov) de Sevilla a Barcelona, por Madrid y por el río Ebro (1.400km, 30-nov) Se suma a 6.000km. En comparación, los Estados Unidos se pueden cruzar por 4.000km. Por cierto, Iberia es el nombre con que los griegos conocían desde tiempos remotos lo que hoy llamamos Península Ibérica. Ahora mismo me quedan muchas incertidumbres y desconocidos: ¿Cómo será viajar con alforjas cargadas? ¿Deberé llevar una tienda y un saco de dormir? ¿Podré acabar el viaje antes de la llegada de invierno? Pues, un viaje de casi seis mil kilómetros comienza con el primer paso. Y haré tal paso en una semanita. :D

Yesterday they notified me that it was my last day with the company. It could be a great worry -- but I see it as a great opportunity. The proposition of A Trip around Iberia remained without a date. But I just decided to embark on it Saturday the 11th. Right now I have a number of uncertainties and unknowns: How will it be to travel with loaded saddlebags? Should I carry a tent and sleeping bag? Can I finish the trip before the arrival of winter? Well, a journey of almost six thousand kilometers begins with a single step. And I will take that step in just a week. :D
