Una Vuelta a Iberia, día 26

Béjar a Salamanca, 76km (acumulados 2176km)

Si soy un motor, soy un motor temperamental. Como el día 22 de mi vuelta, nada me quedó de lo bueno del día anterior. O la fuerte subida al final de ayer, o la inesperada continuación de esa subida esta mañana, o el fresquito de la mañana me impidió encontrar mi ritmo. Después de 25km, me paré en un restaurante y tomé mi bocadillo preferido. Salí con un poco más gusto. Pero faltaban 20km hasta el destino, me costaba un montón seguir pedaleando. Me paré en una gasolinera y tomé un Snickers y una bebida de zumos con guaraná y ginseng. Pues, nada más montar la bici, fui tirando con el plato grande hasta Salamanca. Y vaya descubrimiento: ¡el casco antiguo de Salamanca es guapísimo! Disfruté mucho dando una vuelta.

If I am a motor, I'm a temperamental motor. As with day 22 of my trip, nothing of the good things carried over from the previous day. Either the sharp climb at the end of yesterday, or the unexpected continuation of that climb this morning, or the briskness of the morning prevented me from finding my rhythm. After 25km, I stopped at a restaurant and had my favorite sandwich. I left with a little more zest. But with 20km to my destination, I struggled to keep pedaling. I stopped at a gas station and had a Snickers and a juice drink with guarana and ginseng. Well, I'd barely gotten on the bike when I went flying with the big chainring all the way to Salamanca. And what a discovery: the old town of Salamanca is very handsome! I really enjoyed walking around.
