Una Vuelta a Iberia, día 41

Ortigueira a A Coruña, 96km (acumulados 3513km)

¿Dónde estuvieron los 25km de cuesta abajo sin subida que correspondieron a los 25km de cuesta arriba sin bajada? ¿Dónde estuvieron las vistas a la costa como recompensa por tanta subida? ¿Dónde estuvo la carretera a la derecha que me llevaría a Cedeira y por la costa? El día empezó bien: hacía sol, no hacía tanto frío, y tenía ganas de montar la bici. Las piernas estaban un poco cansadas pero salí con paciencia. Fui subiendo y subiendo y buscando la carretera deseada. Pero cansé de subir y me dí cuenta que había pedaleado 30km en lugar de 15km. Un error muy inusual para mi, perdí la carretera y no por poco. Lo bueno es que hizo la etapa 16km más corta. Lo malo es que me cabreé por subir tanto y por perder la ruta de la costa. Pasé un rato despotricando a mí mismo hasta que me di cuenta de que no me servía acercar al destino. El resto de la etapa era típica para Galicia, o sea poca llana. Si pasas 6 minutos subiendo una colina y 1 minuto bajándola, pasas 86% del tiempo subiendo. Galicia es preciosa pero recomiendo verla en coche.

Where were the 25km of continuous downhill which corresponded to the 25km of continuous uphill? Where were the views of the coast as a reward for so much uphill? Where was the turn to the right which would take me to Cedeira and along the coast? The day started well: it was sunny and not so cold and I felt like riding the bike. My legs were a little tired but I set off with patience. I was climbing and climbing and searching for the turn off. But I got tired of climbing and realized that I had cycled 30km instead of 15km. An unusual mistake for me, I'd missed the turn and not by just a little. The good thing is that it made the stage 16km shorter. The bad thing is that it pissed me off to climb so much and to miss the coastal road. I spent a while ranting to myself until I realized that it wasn't getting me any closer to my destination. The rest of the stage was typical for Galicia, or rather not flat. If you spend 6 minutes climbing a hill and 1 minute descending it, you spend 86% of the time climbing. Galicia is beautiful but I recommend seeing it by car.
